Good morning on this beautiful Monday! 💛☀️ I wanted to share a quote from one of my favorite artists. As I navigate this life journey, I am learning a few things about myself personally and professionally. I came across this quote about a month ago, and reading it again today, I felt the need to share some thoughts with you. I hope this helps you put some of your own feelings, thoughts, and life's happenings into perspective.
"At my aunt's funeral, I promised myself that I wouldn't be bound by the belief that I'm supposed to stay in anything - whether it's a relationship, a job, a house, or a circumstance - if it makes me miserable. She gave me the courage to find my own happiness." ~Jill Scott 🎤
Personally, I find inspiration in this quote because of the experiences I have had navigating through challenging and hurtful situations, both in professional and personal realms. It serves as a reminder that it is not only acceptable but essential to prioritize my own happiness and mental well-being. In a society that often imposes expectations of enduring difficulty for the sake of stability, Scott's words provide a refreshing perspective on embracing change and seeking happiness.
🤗 Happiness is for us all! We get to choose it! We have been taught that struggle is and should be part of our daily life. Now, by no means do I believe that every day will be flowers and sunshine. However, just because the rain comes doesn't mean your world has to instantly be gray or blue. You can still choose happiness. I've learned that how you react will determine the outcome. A songwriter once said, "I can see the rain falling from the clouds, I've seen my blue skies turn to gray. Begin to see the sun shining so bright and dark nights turn to day. It makes me wanna smile, so I smile" (lol some of you will get it). I don't know about you, but I know I want my days on this earth to be filled with as much joy as possible. I want to be surrounded by love and happiness. 💛🤗
I'll leave you with this: change your thoughts, and you change your words! Change your words, and you change your life! We hear it often, but it's true! Words have power! 🙌🏾 So now the question is, what are you going to do? I know I am choosing happiness… and naps💤 (another blog for another day). 🤩 LOL! Stay cool and remember: pray, love, smile, repeat!
Love you,
Daria 💜
